The Keble ball was on Saturday night - basically like the post-high school graduation all-night party but everyone wears prom clothing. There were two large tents with live music all night, magic and comedy in a room, a casino, and food stands. I think my favorite part of the night was watching the Oxford University Big Band because everyone was there, dancing to Sinatra and cheering Richard on while he played trombone. I spent a good chunk of the night (it lasted from 8 PM to 4 AM) at the Silent Disco - everyone had a pair of headphones and there were two channels to choose from. The person next to you might be dancing to a completely different song, it was really fun.
The night flew by much faster than I had expected. There were lots of people left when they took a "survivors photo" at 4 AM. I haven't seen it yet though and I don't have any pictures since my camera died in Italy. I'm sure they will be in abundance on Facebook once people make albums.
I'm so glad Elena came back for the ball. It was so wonderful to have her here all of last week. No work got done, but a whole lot of fun was had. Ness and I both felt like it was like she had never left. I hated saying goodbye to her yesterday morning but the day improved later when about ten of us piled onto the sofas in the cafe for about three hours and kind of took mini naps all on top of each other. There were limbs and newspaper and bottles of iced tea everywhere. I kind of loved it.
